THE CENTRALITE FAMILY NEWSLETTER

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is one of my favorite shows to watch every year.  It shows that at Thanksgiving sometimes our family is just not our immediate family but to include close friends.  We all know the cartoon when Peppermint Patty invites herself and several other friends over to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving.  Charlie was not prepared for it so Snoopy jumps in to help for a masterful Thanksgiving Feast.  When it is all said and done, the whole group goes to Charlie Brown’s grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving Meal.  As we know family is not just immediate family but sometimes includes friends.  I want to encourage you to reach out to those in your community to insure people you are connected to have a great Thanksgiving Season.  The Gantt Family wants to say we are so thankful and blessed to be a part of the Central Family.

MUSIC MINISTRY

What do you think of when you hear a friend’s name?  Our name means more than calling us or recognizing us.  Our name stands for something good or bad.  Our name is known by our actions, our speech, or relationships.  The Bible tells us that it is good to have a good name.  The sweetest name of all is Jesus.  It means everything to His children.  That’s us!  We also share His name as children of God.  Let’s work to protect our name from becoming something other than one that brings reproach to the name of Jesus.  Thank God for a good name.  God Bless us all.          Love, Bro. Danny

Throughout the month of October, Bro. Kevin has preached a series of sermons on the importance of connecting with people. He has challenged each one of us to get out of our comfort zone and find people who need Christ. We can do that in many ways - cards, calls, inviting someone to church, sharing gospel tracts, church activities which include the community around us - so many ways we can share Christ's love. Connecting is very important for the Christian.

Our October meeting was very enjoyable and informative. Mr. Charlie Rogers from the Baptist Children's Village in Wiggins spoke to us about their ministry. They currently have 18 children ages 8-17. Our Young at Heart group is connecting with them by donating 10 baskets filled with essentials for children who arrive at the Village. Each basket has towels, washrags, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, brush and comb, soap, hair accessories, hangers and their own special blanket. This will be something personal for the new children. Thank you to those who donated and helped make this happen. I am sure it will be a blessing to these children who receive the baskets.

Don't forget our Truck or Treat for the community on Saturday, October 30, from 2-4. You can donate a bag of candy for the games or volunteer for a variety of activities. You don't want to miss it- I am sure you will see many cute costumes as well!

We will have our Thanksgiving luncheon at Noon on November 2. Bring your Thanksgiving dishes, invite a friend, and come for a good time of food and fellowship.

        Love you! Reva

Nursery Upgrade & Volunteers
During our Church Work Day our Nursery was cleaned out and organized.
It is now in need of several new items to be ready for the new families that will need to take advantage of it to attend our services.  Watch the bulletin for specific items.
If you would like to make a designated gift, please mark nursery on your donation
and we will use it to make our nursery look great.
We also need ministry partners who will make themselves available to staff the nursery on Sunday Mornings.
There is a sign up list on the back table in the Sanctuary.
It’s time to prepare our church to welcome new young families to our church family.
