THE CENTRALITE FAMILY NEWSLETTER
“Building The Greatest Church Since Pentecost”

June 2022

What an incredible outreach opportunity is just around the corner for Central Baptist Church. Vacation Bible School will be here in a few days. The halls and rooms of CBC will echo with lessons and laughter. What an exciting time!
Please labor together with us in your prayers as the workers all prepare. Our goal this year is 100 attending children. Let us pray that we will have 100 or more children with whom we can share the good news of forgiveness of sins through faith in Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Himself loved the little children. He was visibly and verbally annoyed with the disciples who tried to bar the way of parents seeking His blessing on their little ones. He rebuked the apostles and welcomed the children. He laid his hands upon them and blessed them in Mark 10:13-16.
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
May the good Lord touch every child who enters our doors and bless them abundantly!

MUSIC MINISTRY

This week someone asked me why music was so important at church. I thought about this for a minute and told them what music does for me. First, music reaches deep into my soul and prepares my heart for God's Word. Secondly, it forces me to focus my thoughts on God and His goodness. Thirdly, it lifts my mood and fills me with hope! But most importantly, I am commanded to sing and worship! Psalm 100 says, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!” Music is a very important part of worship and without it, there would be less personal expression of joy for the congregation.
On another note- we need volunteers to bring special music. If you can sing, play an instrument, share a special poem, or sing with a group, we need you. Also, if you have a special song you would like to hear, please let me know and we will work it into one of our services.
      See you Sunday!

We had a wonderful turn out for our May meeting! Fifteen of us met at Sherral's and enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch. The food was delicious and the fellowship was sweet. Our Young at Heart T-shirts got a lot of attention, so several of us were able to explain who we were and why we wore the shirts. One never knows when God is going to provide an opportunity to share!
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, June 7 at noon. Our scheduled speaker had to cancel, so we will have a potluck fellowship and music. In July, Sheriff Allison and his deputies will join us, so that will be an enjoyable meeting.
Invite someone to join us- they will be glad they came!
      Love all of you.
